で示されている図書分類の6つの機能のブラッシュアップを。

1. Identifying the exsitence of all type of informtion packages as they are made available
2. Identifying the works contained within those information packages or as parts of them
3. Systematically pulling together these information packages into collections in libraries, archives, museums, Internet communication files, and other such depositories
4. Producing lists of these information packages prepared according to standard rules for citation
5. Providing name, title, subject, and other useful access to these infromation packages
6. Providing the means of locating each information package or a copy of it

1.はリストにあるかどうかの有無であり、図書館のインデックスやＤＢには必要ですが、そうしたインデックスやリストの上にアノテートするソーシャルタギングには関連なさそうです。
3.も1.同様かな、と。
という感じで全体を見ると、ソーシャルタギングにおけるタグにこの機能が含まれるか否か、というよりはユーザがアノテートする対象リスト・データベースにこのような機能を持つメタデータ／インデックスがあらかじめ備えられている必要があるのかと思われます。
もちろん、FlickrやYouTubeで扱われているコンテンツにあらかじめメタデータは付与されていないわけであるが、SBMの場合蓄積される対象であるHTMLファイルのtitleタグやURLのドメインといったメタデータが存在することが前提でタグ付け、コメント付けが行われていると考えられます。
そのため、SBMなどにおける対象リスト・データベースにあらかじめ組み込まれているメタデータと、ユーザが事後的に付与するメタデータの役割分担も整理する必要があろうと考えます。
